there and back again. with love :)

I had an awesome three days away!

Three families shared a villa at A' Famosa. The place was awesome! It had four rooms, 2 bathrooms and we even got our own private swimming pool! nenek even got her own room with the view of the swimming pool so she could see us swimming which made her very very happy:)

We did plenty of stuff. But our first pit stop was Abah's old house which got destroyed by people who stole the pieces of wood. It was pretty sad to see it that way though. Looking at the skeleton and wondering how we all actually fitted in that house once upon a time, or once upon many times during all those raya's. I never had many memories of staying in a kampung before. But whatever I had, I made there at that house, and now it's gone. I can only imagine how much sadder it must have been for Abah to look at the place he grew up in, in ruins.

 :(

We did so much during our stay. We walked around town, ate yummy street food, went to the Animal safari, had horse rides (ok the kids did, the rest of us just stood and watched), swam in the pool, went to the beach, had fresh kupang and spaghetti for lunch, blew bubbles by the river while waiting for the men to go sembahyang jumaat, bought some souvenir for the babes and just had lots of fun! Okay I know I'm acting all jakun-ish but we've never been here with this side of the family before. It was fun bringing nenek out for jalan-jalan even if she just stayed in the car but we could see that she enjoyed it a lot. Never did she once complain about being tired or wanting to go home. She was super happy when she got an ice-cream. I was super duper happy when I got an ice-cream too! hehe:P

sorry about the finger!

Well, now we're back. Over are the mornings where I got to wake up to the sound of a lion roaring, go for a morning swim in a private pool, and then get ready to be served breakfast at the garden cafe; and the days of just lounging around with no strings attached about anything at all, when the only thing I had to worry about was running out of film when we got to the beach, and all I wanted to do was swim and clear my head with chlorine filled water. Ohhhh yeahhh..

got my head cleared with chlorine alright. hehe...

and even if it was just three days, spending it with the family made it feel like forever :)
